Daniel To Seek Second Term As Weston First Selectman

Daniel was endorsed by the Republican Town Committee at its meeting on Wednesday night. The RTC endorsed a full slate of candidates for town offices at the meeting, including Stephan Grozinger for the Board of Selectmen, the Weston Forum reported.

Selectman Dennis Tracey also announced that he is not running for a fourth term on the Board of Selectmen, according to the Weston Forum.

Weston First Selectman Nina Daniel Weston is officially running for re-election. The Republican Town Committee endorsed Daniel at a meeting last night where it also endorsed a full slate of candidates for the municipal election in November. “I am very grateful to the RTC and the community for the support I have received to serve the town as its first selectman,” Daniel said following the announcement.

In addition to Daniel, the committee endorsed Stephan Grozinger for selectman. Grozinger is an attorney and is the past chairman of the Planning and Zoning Commission. He is also a member of the Weston Volunteer Fire Department and the Aspetuck Land Trust. He was named Weston’s Citizen of the Year in May for his public service to the town. Daniel has served one-term as first selectman. Dennis Tracey (R), who has served on the Board of Selectmen for three terms announced he was not running again, citing work commitments.

The Weston Republican Town Committee has announced that it has unanimously endorsed Nina Daniel as a candidate for first selectman and Dennis Tracey for selectman. This is Daniel’s first run for the town’s top office. She is currently a member of the Board of Education and Commission on Aging and is active in community groups such as the Friends of the Weston Senior Center, Weston Kiwanis Club and Weston Historical Society.
